COVID-19 IN NIGERIA: WE SAY NO TO CHINA INTERVENTION

Can the world ever trust China again? Would Nigeria romance with the prime suspect of the current global crisis (COVID-19)? How can we? In 2012 China handed over a fully funded and built headquarters building in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to the African Union (AU). A great gesture of friendship and solidarity, perhaps. But not long after, it was alleged to have been bugged, leaking vital, confidential information of the Union to China in faraway Shanghai! True or false, the Union had to change its computer servers to check the alleged mischief. But issues of health are different. Misfiring means losing a life, or even lives. On a national scale, that can amount to thousands. Painful loss. Avoidable loss. The authorities must tread with caution here. Face masks, test kits, ventilators, vaccine and doctors - all from or of China. Hmmmm, caution we must exercise. Until now we have been using our indigenous doctors, and they have been doing well. WHY CHANGE THE WINNING TEAM? Please let us DISCARD this idea of Chinese intervention. WE DON'T NEED IT. Let us stay safe Stay indigenous. Stay Nigerian We shall overcome

Nigeria Will Overcome Through Spiritual Solution – Jonathan

imagePresident Goodluck Jonathan on Sunday said that spiritual solution is the best solution to challenges faced by mankind, saying Nigeria will overcome its challenges through spiritual solutionSpeaking when he attended the Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Garki, Abuja, the President expressed hope that with the prayers and support from the Church, Nigeria would overcome its present challenges, even as he thanked Christians for their prayers for the nation under his watch. “I thank the pastor and his wife for their spiritual work for this nation. Scientific way of healing is not always enough, we need spiritual healing too.

Even after any major operation, you are told to come for periodic check up, may be every three months because medical or scientific help is not always complete. Spiritual help is total. So, I thank the pastor and the church on behalf of the country,” he said.
Maintaining that the country had its own share of the negative things happening around the world to contend with, Jonathan said the country’s challenges would have been worse without the prayers and spiritual support from pastors and Christians.
“If you watch television, both local and foreign, we always have negative news as breaking news. We have our fair share of those negative news but your prayers have been helping, if not for your prayers, it would have been worse. We will get over our challenges. I urge you to continue to pray for the nation,” he noted.
Commending the senior pastor, Dr Paul Enenche for his consistent support and prayers for his administration and the country as a whole, the president urged the Dunamis family and Christians to keep praying for the nation.
“The happiest people in the world”, according to him “are not the ones with big names,” just as he enjoined the congregation to use the privilege to serve God whenever they are privileged to be wealthy or hold the highest position in the land.
Jonathan noted that he had ordered that every last sunday of every month, he would go round different churches in Abuja to fraternize with other Christians and appreciate them for their prayers, aside his usual worship centre, Aso Villa Chapel.
On his part, Pastor Enenche prayed for the President to be able to take ‘rugged’ decisions at the right time which are in the fear of God and rule of law, irrespective of whose ox is gored.
Praying for divine protection and guidance for the president and his cabinet, Enenche also prayed that the 2015 election should not end in war or destruction, adding that anyone who was not of God would not smell the highest position in the land.
