COVID-19 IN NIGERIA: WE SAY NO TO CHINA INTERVENTION

Can the world ever trust China again? Would Nigeria romance with the prime suspect of the current global crisis (COVID-19)? How can we? In 2012 China handed over a fully funded and built headquarters building in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to the African Union (AU). A great gesture of friendship and solidarity, perhaps. But not long after, it was alleged to have been bugged, leaking vital, confidential information of the Union to China in faraway Shanghai! True or false, the Union had to change its computer servers to check the alleged mischief. But issues of health are different. Misfiring means losing a life, or even lives. On a national scale, that can amount to thousands. Painful loss. Avoidable loss. The authorities must tread with caution here. Face masks, test kits, ventilators, vaccine and doctors - all from or of China. Hmmmm, caution we must exercise. Until now we have been using our indigenous doctors, and they have been doing well. WHY CHANGE THE WINNING TEAM? Please let us DISCARD this idea of Chinese intervention. WE DON'T NEED IT. Let us stay safe Stay indigenous. Stay Nigerian We shall overcome

Mourinho may risk Eto’o against PSG

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho says he may risk Samuel Eto’o against Paris Saint-Germain as the Blues prepare for the second leg of their Champions League quarterfinal.

The striker has not featured for Chelsea since hobbling off early in the 6-0 win over Arsenal, but he is the Blues' second-leading scorer this season with 11 goals.
When asked if he could be fit, he told reporters: "Let's see, let's see. I wanted [Samuel] Eto'o to be on the bench on Saturday [against Stoke City] and play 15 or 20 minutes but he was not fit enough. He did not train with the team on Sunday, so we have to see.

"Maybe I will pick him. But to risk a player, you need to have minimum conditions to take that risk. If you think he's going to be out after 10 minutes of the game, you can't take that risk. If there is a minimum of conditions of risk, then yes."

Chelsea goes into the game 3-1 down after an eventful first leg in the French capital and Mourinho hinted at an attacking approach for his team.

“We need to score goals. If we don't score a minimum of two goals, we are out. We know that,” he added. "If we can have everybody available who can give us a chance to score goals, then let's do that."
