Betrayed by His Treasurer, and
handed Him over to His enemies; Arrested as a criminal; Deserted by His
disciples; Mocked and derided by foes; Turned
over to a battalion of soldiers to torture; Spat on; Slapped many times; Tried by
a kangaroo court in a mockery of trial concluded over the night; Denied justice; Flogged with spiked whips; Crowned with
thorns; Led out to where He was to
die; Compelled to carry His Cross even
though exhausted from pain of torture; Nailed on hands and feet to the
Cross; Crucified between thieves, and so
counted as one; and Abandoned for hours on the Cross.
After enduring six hours of dereliction,
He bowed His head to mortal pain and gave up His spirit. Thereafter He was
pierced at the side, from where flowed water and blood.
Consider, dear friend, that Christ
did all that for you.
That was victory over all that He went through, and over
all that you are going through, for He did it all for you. It was victory over
sin, death and the grave, over Satan, demons, the world, and the flesh.
Behold
the Lamb that was slain at Calvary,
Behold
the Lamb that was slain at Calvary.
We have victory through the Lamb that was
slain at Calvary;
We
have victory through the Lamb that was slain at Calvary.
Accept Christ now, and experience
the victory of the Cross over your life situations. God loves you, even if the
world hates you. The love of God for you is greater than all. You need no
other. Christ is all you need.
Accepting Christ means having
eternal life, so that when you die and leave this world, you would go to where
Christ is, and be with Him. Rejecting Him is to court disaster, and risk
eternal damnation in the fire of hell. You can avoid that by asking Christ to
come into your life now. Make Good Friday really good for you. God bless you.
