"Go in peace, and may the God of Israel grant you what you have
asked of Him" - 1 Sam 1: 17
Answered prayer is the delight of everyone. Imagine a state where you
call out to people but they do not answer you. You feel ignored, snubbed
and perhaps demoralized. Even if it is a text you send and it is not replied
to, you feel the same. Hannah must have felt the same when in years of
barrenness her prayer for a child was not answered. Then on this fine day, the
man of God pronounced a benediction that changed her story for good. "Go
in peace", Eli said, "and may the God of Israel grant you what you
have asked of Him." Hannah went home upon a pronouncement and it changed
her story for good. May this be your testimony - that a man of God blessed you
and it stuck. It brought the desired result.
When you go to church do not be in a hurry to leave. Wait for the
benediction. Let the man of God pronounce a blessing upon your life. This is
highly significant. Ignorance of this or pride of heart make many lose this
blessing. Please don't. Hannah wasn't in a hurry, and she got what she wanted.
Do not let undue haste, ignorance or pride rob you of your blessings.
God ever delights to do good to His creatures. The hymn writer says He
is 'slow to chide and quick to bless'. If God were to keep a record of wrongs,
none would stand. But there is forgiveness with Him so that people would learn
to fear Him. There is forgiveness for you if you would but turn to God in
repentance. The Bible says 'Repent therefore, and turn to God, so that your
sins may be wiped out' (Acts 3: 19).
The blessings of God for you is packaged in Christ, and in none else,
for 'there is salvation in no other, for there is no other name under heaven
given among humans by which we must be saved' (Acts 4: 12). Whatever your need,
whatever your prayer... know this, that you can only find it in Christ. And God
is not thrifty about it. He wants to give it to you abundantly. Christ came
that you may have life and have it more abundantly (John 10: 10). Receive the
blessings of God today and be fulfilled.
Peace be with you!
