COVID-19 IN NIGERIA: WE SAY NO TO CHINA INTERVENTION

Can the world ever trust China again? Would Nigeria romance with the prime suspect of the current global crisis (COVID-19)? How can we? In 2012 China handed over a fully funded and built headquarters building in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to the African Union (AU). A great gesture of friendship and solidarity, perhaps. But not long after, it was alleged to have been bugged, leaking vital, confidential information of the Union to China in faraway Shanghai! True or false, the Union had to change its computer servers to check the alleged mischief. But issues of health are different. Misfiring means losing a life, or even lives. On a national scale, that can amount to thousands. Painful loss. Avoidable loss. The authorities must tread with caution here. Face masks, test kits, ventilators, vaccine and doctors - all from or of China. Hmmmm, caution we must exercise. Until now we have been using our indigenous doctors, and they have been doing well. WHY CHANGE THE WINNING TEAM? Please let us DISCARD this idea of Chinese intervention. WE DON'T NEED IT. Let us stay safe Stay indigenous. Stay Nigerian We shall overcome

PAN Nigeria Limited Nigeria’s leading automobile manufacturer and Access Bank have entered into a partnership, aimed at making the acquisition of brand new Peugeot vehicles easier for its customers in Nigeria. The two companies signed an MoU recently at Protea Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, where they stated that making brand new Peugeot vehicles affordable was their priority since it had become almost impossible for people to buy cars with their savings over a long period of time. Another advantage of the Peugeot model is that unlike other brands that has service circle of 5,000 kilometres, Peugeot brand has service circle of 10,000 kilometres and affordable parts which makes them very cheap in the long run. In addition to these benefits, the PAN boss disclosed that the Peugeot 301 and 508 sedans are now assembled at their Kaduna plant with over 40 years experience and qualified technicians and engineers to back up the brand.
He said: “We are on the semi knock-down stage and have signed the complete knock-down contract (CKD) which will commence in 2016.” According to him, PAN was ahead of other local manufacturers with in three years. “We are the only one that has achieved this CKD stage while others can attain stage three years after,” he said. He added that PAN presently produces 16 cars daily in its Kaduna plant and can double this figure on double shift.
