God's desire is that you have peace, both now and in the hereafter. To this end He has made provision for you to have that peace. You did not work for it. You couldn't. Peace is beyond your reach, just like other intangibles you desire - joy, love and life. God has packaged all these for you in what is called Salvation. It is packaged in His Son Jesus Christ and presented to you FREE OF CHARGE. It is God's gift to you. Receiving it means having all you need in this life... and the next, when you leave this world by death. Hear what the Bible says on this:
"God so loved the world that He GAVE His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have ETERNAL LIFE" - John 3: 16
"The wages of sin is death; but the GIFT of God is ETERNAL LIFE through Jesus Christ our Lord" - Romans 6: 23
"It is by grace that you have been saved through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the GIFT of God" - Ephesians 2: 8
You can only receive or reject a gift. What are you going to do with the gift of God to you? Remember, receiving it means having all the good things you ever desired. Rejecting it means... hmmm, God forbid... It's better narrated than experienced...I mean,
Lake of Fire for ever. Eternal torment. Unending pain, thirst and suffering in fire. Burning and continuous burning, yet not burnt out. Just there to keep crying out in pain without hope of change in condition. Hard to imagine, isn't it? That's why I said God forbid. God forbid that that should be the lot of any reading this.
What to do? Just this...Accept that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that He died for you by crucifixion on the Cross of Calvary, that He shed His blood to wash away your sins, that He rose again from the dead triumphantly on the third day to justify you before God, that your sins are forgiven through the sacrificial death of Christ on the Cross, that He is alive today to save you. Then call out IN FAITH to God. Just say, "Lord Jesus, I believe you died for me and rose again. I believe your blood washes away my sins. I'm sorry for my sins. Please forgive me and save me by your grace. Thank you, Lord Jesus for saving me, in your name I pray, Amen.
If you pray this prayer seriously, meaningfully and in faith, you will experience a change of heart and life. Your tastes would change from worldly and satanic things to the things of God. You would love the things of God and would like to identify with Him in private and in public. You will begin to pray and read the Bible. If you never had a Bible before now you will look for and buy one. In fact, you will begin to tell others this good news so they too would have this eternal life that you have just received. So many good changes will come into your life that we cannot all outline here.
May God have mercy on you, open your eyes to know Him the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom He sent to die for you (John 17: 3).
