COVID-19 IN NIGERIA: WE SAY NO TO CHINA INTERVENTION

Can the world ever trust China again? Would Nigeria romance with the prime suspect of the current global crisis (COVID-19)? How can we? In 2012 China handed over a fully funded and built headquarters building in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to the African Union (AU). A great gesture of friendship and solidarity, perhaps. But not long after, it was alleged to have been bugged, leaking vital, confidential information of the Union to China in faraway Shanghai! True or false, the Union had to change its computer servers to check the alleged mischief. But issues of health are different. Misfiring means losing a life, or even lives. On a national scale, that can amount to thousands. Painful loss. Avoidable loss. The authorities must tread with caution here. Face masks, test kits, ventilators, vaccine and doctors - all from or of China. Hmmmm, caution we must exercise. Until now we have been using our indigenous doctors, and they have been doing well. WHY CHANGE THE WINNING TEAM? Please let us DISCARD this idea of Chinese intervention. WE DON'T NEED IT. Let us stay safe Stay indigenous. Stay Nigerian We shall overcome

LOOK BEYOND THE PRESENT

What is happening to you now may look good or bad. Look beyond it. It may look promising or bleak. Look beyond it. If you are a child of God, your future is bright. Your present condition is not the conclusion of your life. Something greater and better lies ahead of you. Hear what the Scripture says of Christ in this matter:
Who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God – Hebrews 12: 2

Imagine the social ridicule and injustice, the humiliation, the physical pain of torture, the excruciating pain of crucifixion and the agony of death Christ went through. He could have given up. But He looked beyond them to the joy and glory that awaited Him at the end. He doubtless felt the pain, but He saw the glory that overshadowed it. He would not shrink from His vision, painful though the path may be, because He saw the coming glory. When faced with death threat over your faith, look beyond the sword and see the glory that awaits you. Look beyond the gun and see the glory. Look beyond the hate and see the glory. Look beyond whatever is unpleasant and see the glory.
The three Hebrew children – Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, looked beyond a blazing, fiery furnace to a God who could deliver them. They affirmed that even if their God would not deliver them, they would not worship a man-made god (Daniel 3: 17 – 18). It is better to die for what you believe than live for what you do not.
Stephen looked beyond the pain of death by stoning. He looked up and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God (Acts 7: 55 – 56).
You can look beyond your present condition to a better tomorrow. The faithfulness of God guarantees your security. May the God of peace give you peace always in your condition in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
